It is increasingly important today, with China’s dramatic rise in economic and political presence, that Americans learn Mandarin Chinese. Chinese language learning is no passing fad, with over 1 billion people speaking Chinese, globalization of business, and international media. Moreover, RCS has been in existence for close to 40 years in Rockland County. RCS provides basic, intermediate and advanced Mandarin Chinese Classes.

Who does Rockland Chinese School serve?

The Rockland Chinese School is the only Chinese School in Rockland County, New York. Students range in age from 5 to 18 and come from both Rockland and Bergen counties.

When are classes held?

Classes are held on Sundays, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

How do I Register my child(ren)?

Registration forms can be found on our website. These forms can be filled out by the parents / students at home.  Upon completing the Registration form, a meeting will be arranged between the Education Director and the new parents / students.

Are classes for native Chinese speakers only?

No, our beginner classes include children who have never spoken a word of Chinese. Rockland Chinese School welcomes everyone, and recognizes the value of diversity. Our curriculum includes classes for both native Chinese speakers and native English speakers who are interested in learning Mandarin Chinese as a second language.

What do I do after signing in my child(ren) at school?

You have the option to leave and comeback to pick up your child(ren), or you may use the campus lounge and wait for your child(dren). It is comfortable, and Wi-Fi ready. Please request the password from one of our staff.

Where is the parking lot located?

There is a parking lot on campus.  We ask that parents park their car and walk their child(ren) to their respective building or classroom.  For everyone’s safety we ask that parents do not drive their car through the school driveway.  Thank you.

What if I am late to pick up my child(ren)?

If you are going to be late picking up your child(ren), notify the Principal or your child(ren)’s teacher as soon as possible.
