The Chinese American Cultural Association of Rockland, Inc., (CACAR), is a non-profit, non-political, cultural organization established in 1997 to promote and advance the diverse cultural heritage of the Chinese community and community at large in Rockland County and its surrounding communities.
About Us
At New CACAR, we are more than a school—we are a warm, supportive community where children feel seen, understood, and cared for. Building on CACAR’s strong foundation since 1997, we are committed to creating a nurturing environment where learning and personal growth go hand in hand.
Why In-Person Learning?
Even in the age of online classes, we believe nothing replaces real human connection. Encouraging smiles, shared laughter, and meaningful interactions in the classroom are essential to a child’s development. Education is not just instruction—it is connection and companionship.
Our Educational Philosophy
We focus on the whole child:
- See each child beyond academics, recognizing their unique strengths and potential
- Connect with each child with patience, understanding, and respect
- Support each child in discovering their own path with confidence
Our Foundation
Rooted in the Rockland Chinese American Cultural Association (CACAR) since 1997, we are dedicated to preserving Chinese language and culture while supporting generations of students in our community.
Our Program
We welcome children ages 6 and up, with or without prior Chinese experience.
- Small class sizes ensure personalized attention
- Classes are held every Saturday (starting September), 1:30–4:30 PM
- Curriculum includes Chinese language, math logic, arts, and cultural enrichment
Our Commitment
We believe every child deserves to be seen and supported. Together with families, we strive to help children grow with confidence, curiosity, and a strong sense of identity.
We look forward to welcoming you and your child.
Our School
Mandarin Language Class
We go beyond language learning to immerse students in culture and tradition. Our program builds confident communication skills, helping students express themselves clearly while developing pride in their identity and a broader global perspective.
Math Class
We believe every child has unique strengths. Our math program focuses on building logical thinking and problem-solving skills, guiding each student to grow at their own pace while developing confidence and curiosity.
Culture Lab
This program helps children build confidence in speaking and presenting. Through engaging activities and group exercises, students develop clear communication skills, manage nervousness, and learn to speak with ease in front of others.
